Panchayat

A Panchayat is a body of elected representatives for managing the administrative affairs of Panchayati Raj institutions. As far as a Grama Panchayat is concerned, it is the primary committee that implements the decisions of the Grama Sabha and carries out the day-to-day administration. The main components of a Panchayat are:President: The head of the Panchayat. They preside over meetings and supervise the overall functioning of the Panchayat.Vice President: Performs the duties in the absence of the President.Ward Members: Elected representatives from each ward of the Panchayat.Standing Committees: Formed to ease the decision-making process of the Panchayat for matters like finance, development, welfare, health, and education.
